Attorneys
A John Arenz was born in Dubuque, Iowa. He graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University in 1975, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He obtained his law degree cum laude from Georgetown University in 1978. While at Georgetown, he was a member of the Student Editorial Board of The Tax Lawyer. He returned to Dubuque after law school and was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1978, joining our firm that same year. He was later admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1985. John is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the Western District of Wisconsin, and the United States Supreme Court. He is currently a member of the American, Iowa State, and Dubuque County Bar Associations, as well as the State Bar of Wisconsin. John is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Iowa Defense Counsel Association and the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association. He is also an associate member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Association of Trial Lawyers of Iowa. John is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He practices primarily in, but is not limited to the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, workers compensation, and real estate law.
