Stephanie R. Fueger

Shareholder

I grew up in the tri-state area, and am happy to call it my family’s home today. I am proud to represent clients in this community with their family law and civil litigation needs.

As a mother, I bring a parent’s perspective to my family law practice, and I enjoy helping parents and families problem solve the issues that are most important to them. I strive for an approach to my clients’ problems that is understanding and empathetic, and also fairly and firmly advocates for their best interests. I understand the complex issues involved in family law cases, and I work for a practical solution. I have been trained in collaborative law, a cooperative approach to solving family law issues that employs a team mentality to the process, and I can offer that approach to my clients as they think about the best way to meet their needs. I am also a trained mediator and serve as a neutral third party to assist parties in resolving conflict and working toward a more peaceful future.

Not every legal issue is best resolved in the courtroom, but some cases demand a trial.  When that’s the case, you can feel confident knowing that I pay attention to the details – both large and small.  I am diligent in preparing your case to be presented to and resolved by the finder of fact – whether the judge or a jury. I am not afraid to take your case to trial, and I get to know my clients – their concerns, their goals, their strengths and their weaknesses, so I can prepare my cases for courtroom success.

Whether in a conference room at my office talking to my clients about their situations or in a courtroom advocating for their best interests, I am dedicated to the many people I represent. I am licensed in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin and available to serve clients in those states. Please call me if I can be of assistance.

Child Custody Success

“Stephanie was absolutely fantastic! When my ex-wife absconded to Iowa from Arizona, Stephanie helped me regain custody of my children using an emergency order. I first approached her to simply register a foreign custody order in Iowa in accordance with the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) but Stephanie went above and beyond to learn the details of my case and suggest a better alternative, the emergency order. She was smart, helpful, responsive, and aggressive; everything I could have hoped for and more. She even drove to a court in a different county to meet me and suggested we sue for attorneys fees and travel expenses. We won! It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.”

Sensational in the Courtroom

“Stephanie represented me in a Custody Modification and I thought she did a great job of representing me and was sensational in the court room. She did a great job a making a strong case without attacking others involved. I thought she was very wise and truly did not only want to help me in my case but took it to heart that things turned out for the best for me.”

Dedication and Commitment

“My husband and I can’t thank you and your team enough for your obvious dedication and commitment to my trial. There was no comparison between the quality of your hard work and the opponent’s lawyer’s slip shod approach.”

Custody, Farm, Investments, Career

“My divorce after a 20 year marriage had a lot of moving parts and I was completely impressed with how Stephanie had the capability and capacity to absorb it all. Stephanie is extremely intelligent, honest, dedicated to her clients, knows the law and she is an effective negotiator. But, most importantly, she is compassionate and empathetic. She gets to know her clients, their emotions and all details regarding the case so the client feels understood and heard. My divorce included three children that I love dearly and almost 30 years of farming and a 20 year professional career. We needed to manage custody, alimony, real estate, 401k, investment portfolios, retirement plans, livestock, crops and machinery. I seriously felt Stephanie knew my life and my business almost as well as I did. She came up with custody and financial strategies that I hadn’t considered which resulted with a settlement that we could all live with. I highly recommend Stephanie for her caring manner and attention to detail.”

Divorce and child custody

Stephanie, saved me! I didn’t know what I was going to do or what direction I need to take. She stepped in took charge and made me feel 100% satisfied with every decision I made. She is so easy to talk to and work with, making me feel like a friend. She does great work around the clock! I would recommend her to anyone.

“Stephanie is a fighter and knows the right questions to ask. She’s caring, determined, and smart. I couldn’t have asked for a better lawyer!”
